Some day along the road, I wish i could write one perfect sentence to paraphrase what yoga is to me. Before that day actually occurs, if it ever will, I'll just blog random thoughts that come banging on my head in this site. "WHAT IS YOGA" is going to be a serial BUT with irregular time of publishing, LoL, and it's ON.
Yoga, being it a 60,75,90 minute session, it's always brings me peace and relaxation.
After class, you get in your car. Traffic is bad. People are horning and cutting lines. You flip your fingers to the driver next to you, he flips back.
When you get home, the kids have made the house a mess.
You get upset with your husband because he didn't keep the kids domesticated. :p
You go to bed grumpily, not feeling the peace.
Next day, a typical Thursday day in office. Phone doesn't seem to stop ringing, and there are always up-creek shit for you to take care of.
"Bummer! I need to go yoga tonight." You say to yourself.
So you show up in your community studio, having some peaceful relaxing time for an hour or so before you head back to fight against unpleasantness in the real world.
If I ask you to picture a typical office scene, it's hard to miss one scene with mokeys in suits needing a coffee fix in the afternoon to freshen up.
Is YOGA a COFFEE FIX to YOU?
A fix for you to escape from everything that you can recharge briefly before going back to fight in real world?
A shelter where you seek comfort since you just broke up with your lover?
An activity you engage to kill time since you have nothing better to do?
The statement of "I do yoga" seems helpful to promote yourself in networking, and all the celebrities are doing it?
Yoga is not a substitute, a fling, a plan B, nor a bootie call.
Yoga is not espresso that stimulates you from your routines.
Instead, it's more like water. Some say tasteless, but if you would, the sweetness you have is beyond words.
Yoga is not a superficial fix.
In your practice, when you perform your body with certain quality of mind, it becomes yoga. Don't leave behind the quality in class. Use this very quality to your life, use this very quality to live, to cry, to laugh and to love.
That is Yoga.
I hope we all know what we are doing.
Namaste.
